At some point every system of government has failed or drastically changed. Will democracy be any different?

How does any system keep up with the world's changes? 100 years ago if I wanted to tell Lozza something, it would take a month for a letter to get there, now it takes 5 seconds for a text or net post. 100 years ago people believed our government was run well and they had our best interestest. Today we know every detail of government, or every twisted and fabracated detail an interest group makes up.

To much, too easily obtained, and too easily twisted information is going to be the straw to break democracy's back.

Well ok...and the deep desire for STUFF. STUFF that we think we need that other countries will sell to us for cheaper than we can make it.

I would love to debate this stuff...in fact, one of my jobs is arguing. I'm pretty good at it. I would love to disassemble GoingDeep's misguided musings, but...

Unfortunately for me, I agreed to help with a *SOFTBALL* message board. There are many, many sites for a person to post their political thoughts...of course, no one is going to read them because those boards are cluttered with miscreants and sociopaths. So, people like to post their political musings on a board dedicated to a game with perhaps 1000 "fans" in the entire world.

As to "tyrants"-- People like to use terms without defining them...for example, "socialism" and "fascism". Most people have no clue what words really mean, so they call someone a "socialist fascist" without any clue that this like saying he is a "night day". People tend to by Humpty Dumptish: "'When I use a word,' Humpty Dumpty said, in rather a scornful tone, 'it means just what I choose it to mean — neither more nor less'."

Anyway..."tyrant" means, "an absolute ruler unrestrained by law or constitution". The moderators use a pretty simple set of guidelines--posts should be softball related and the posts should be more or less polite, with no profanity. So, we are a long way from tyrants.
