Transfer Portal experience

Hi All!

I think my daughter may consider transferring, for a variety of reasons, not just softball. I wanted to see what experience people had with the portal. do you absolutely have to go in the portal to even talk with coaches after the season is completely over? Like can she put feelers out there just to see? And has anyone gone from D1 to D2 or D3? thanks in advance!

One of DD’s former TB teammates went from D1 to D2 this past fall. Let me reach out to them and ask how they went about it.

From what I've seen the process is relatively straight forward. I understand that there is likely some hesitancy to entering but an open conversation with the AD about should be had about it.
