CIF playoffs start today. DD's team is #6 seed and will play #11 seed in play-in game to try and get to double-elimination rounds. DD has been ready for this season to be over since it started (numerous and previously discussed politics, attitude, senior-itis, coach favoritism, etc., issues).
DD has blossomed into a well-rounded, intelligent, and empathetic young woman - with a great backdoor curve and ever-improving riseball...
Despite all of our private (and sometimes not so private
) bitching, moaning, eating Pepcid like they're candy...DW and I wouldn't have missed it for the world.
If it ends today, OK. We'll be glad that DD can finally take off the HS saddle and move forward...wondering what could have been (consecutive CIF championships)...
Not gonna lie though...still selfishly hoping DD and her team can get that second bite at the HS championship apple.
