Purposely double hit?

[Rolling Hard]

Runner on 1st. Batter squares to bunt. Ball goes practically straight up about 7 feet high (if left alone probably lands foul in other batters box). Batter while still in box retaps the ball foul disallowing the catcher a chance to catch the ball in the air for an out and most likely double play. What's the call?

I think that is batter interference and both runner and batter are out in that case..Cannot say I have seen that before...lol.

If done intentionally the batter is out. If it did in the umpires judgement prevent a double play the other runner can be ruled out as well.

If the umpire does not feel a double play was viable, runner returns to first base.
