I have been researching and trying to learn about pitching mechanisms. Found a lot of usefull information and then there are some that leave scratching my head and thinking, "do they even know what they are trying to say?" Anyways, a few members suggested that I look up Amanda Scarborough(which I did and found this video which was posted on her FB with this in the description.
Creating the "Whip" Motion
Creating a “whip" motion while heading towards your release is s MAJOR key to spin AND power as a pitcher! That “whip" is all about creating a chain reaction in your arm through your shoulder, through your elbow, and then through your wrist and finger tips through the ball! I explained this to the Canadian pitchers in many different ways while working with them to try to help them create that feeling and understand the concept.
