Here's the beginning of Lizzy's DFP journey: https://www.discussfastpitch.com/softball-pitching/11575-newbie-pitcher-video.html
Wha? what happened to that scrawny kid with the glasses? <G>
She's really grown up a TON.
Only becasue you've asked, if one wants to poke holes just for the sake of poking:
I might agree that, even though her rear leg looks to be in a good position (knee bent/relaxed, laces forward, etc)
that rear leg still looks a little like it's "along for the ride" and not contributing to the pitch.
I think that may be, because her stride is soooo long that core/hip strength just isn't there *yet* to keep in sync.
I wuoldn't change much, though, and stay patient. I bet as she continues to develop and get stronger, it will happen without making it a focus and a dad/DD struggle.
Also, her drag still looks a little "heavy" to me, at least initially. Side of foot vs. toe tips.
But that's being *really* picky!
Question: How's her Drop with such rearward posture? (you said all pitches look same).
Best response yet!!Boomers.... you're crazy.... Liz is full blown beast mode!!!
Ben
went back and looked at that first video lesson...........wow, Lizzy has come a long ways.....she was good back then but is outstanding now. So nice to see the progress. Congrats to both of you.
