So in HS ball, younger kids play? Do their parents drive them to the HS after school?
Trying to understand how it is possible to have 6th graders on varsity HS. How do they make the team against older girls?

Never heard of such a thing, unless private school with all those grades?

Lastly, what local government has budgets for junior high ball?

No junior high or middle school ball around here.

In smaller communities, the HS and JHS are in the same building or close by. In Illinois, you won't find jhs on varsity, but in Kentucky you will.

In Illinois many school districts support all school sports, in some others booster clubs help out, or finance the program. In Kentucky, most teams are supported by booster clubs.

In New York State they have what they call Modified sports for 7th and 8th graders. Problem is that you aren't allowed to cut kids from modified sports. This past year's modified softball team in our town had almost 30 girls on the team, so they split them into a 7th grade team and an 8th grade team and split the schedule, 4 games apiece. If that doesn't change there is no way my DD will be playing modified softball.
