    Pitching Programs

Does anyone recommend any pitching programs online? I’ve been looking at Top Velocity’s 16 week program online. Any certifications out there for teaching/coaching pitchers similar to Epstein Hitting cert?

    Wrist Coach - Play Band

10U travel ball coach here. First year in 10U. I’ve been seeing several posts of tournaments where the girls are wearing play bands. Not sure about everyone else, but our pitchers throw a fastball and 1/4 of them have a reliable changeup. Am I missing something? Why would 10yo’s need a play band?

    Outfield Depth Perception

Yeah, flipping hips or flipping feet. We want to teach our players to flip their bodies to reduce stress on their knees when “turning” to run to a ball hit over their head or to get to a point of settling under the ball. Something Alabama teaches.

    Situational Fielding - 10U

Where do you coach your girls to go with the ball? These are all assumed to be a grounder to the infield. I wish there was a guide for this kind of stuff lol 1. Runner on second, no outs (check runner, take out at first? Or just take the out at first and ignore the runner until after the out?)...

    Outfield Depth Perception

We did this at practice last week. It was a game changer for judging the ball. Most of our girls grasped it. We started with tennis balls. I threw the ball and yelled “right leg, left leg, or front” and they were required to position their body where the ball would hit in that general area. We...

    Outfield Depth Perception

Yes! We use a lot of cones. We warm up our hips and flipping our feet for over the shoulder or settling under the ball.

    10U Rotation

I have an older 10 who will be dominate for us as a pitcher this year. We have three younger 9’s who are still trying to figure out how to throw strikes. They’re getting better each week, but just young and new to pitching. How would you all suggest a rotation in that scenario? We’re a travel...

    Outfield Depth Perception

10U ball. Girls are still struggling to adjust their feet, take angles, flip their hips, and track the ball. We teach drop step, flipping hips, angling their approach, and getting under the ball. Unless it’s hit right to them, they struggle. They’re just not grasping the depth of the fly ball...

    Coaching Third

Moving into 10U this year. What are some rules for a third base coach? Situational, base running, etc.

    Things to Remember - Coaching

Any advice on in-game coaching with 10u? Anything anyone keeps up with? Any mental reminders for a coach? Rules to keep in mind? Do’s and don’ts? Strategies to stay ahead?

    10u Pitching

What’s the best philosophy on pitching in 10U in pool/bracket play?

    Camwood Program

Anyone tried the camwood program for their daughter or player? Success? Failure? Please explain your experience.

    Coach Interference Explanation

I agree with everything you said. It’s fall ball, but the umps in this situation are the ones who typically call spring/summer tournaments as well. They do rec and travel. Just from my baseball days, I know an ump has to acknowledge/confirm my request for time before I can proceed, in any...

    Coach Interference Explanation

Thanks! Yes, one ump said she left early, then said it was the look back rule. The plate ump said she “hesitated” on the run, which she did, but only after the opposing coach’s actions. I’m a big Patrick Murphy fan, so Mudita comes from the UA program. Roll Tide!

    Coach Interference Explanation

We didn’t violate the look back rule at that point, as the pitcher wasn’t in the circle and our runner wouldn’t have stopped had the coach not yelled time, while walking on the field, and his hands raised (five feet from her). The ball was still active. As far as the aggressiveness, we’re not...
