Just curious if anyone has experienced this and am i missing something mechanical.
DD 2 is IR pitcher. Her last 2 pitching sessions her pitching hand just starts tingling. Today she was probably 40-50 pitches in when it started. SO we shut her down. She tells me her hand starts tingling...
l did underhand long toss. 75% effort. More to loosen up and getting the blood flowing. Nothing overly strenuous and very effortless. After warmed up we would work on spins if needed.
The emphasis was on getting things loosened up again.
Parent and player decision. No input from coach needed. Why should a coach get input on my dd’s time outside of scheduled practices and games? It’s her life, not yours.
I havent read all the posts so this could have been mentioned before.
There is no right or wrong answer here. It is 100% philosophical.
My philosophy is that its very situational. thats it. there is a time to take and a time to swing.
14u it needs to be with the players. Parents need to give up some control and led their kids take that lead. Work with them on it. My 14 year old and 16 year old handle all their schedules in the summer. Weight room, speed camp, open gyms for other sports, drivers ed and softball practice...
similar discussion i just had with my sons 10u coach. Would you rather have nothing on the schedule and coach schedule practice last minute or have it scheduled and then cancelled? What looks "worse" in parents eyes?
There is no 1 answer to this. Each program is different. I love Cannonball's response and i believe its taken years of hard work to build his program to that point. Unfortunately, not all programs are their. Smaller schools will have great ebs and flows of athletes and talent.
There may be...
