Between basketball and softball my daughter has played on a lot of teams over the years. She's made a lot of friends along the way. A lot more than if she had stayed with her first softball / basketball teams.
My daughter is an 8th grader. She had a very good coach who had 30 minute lessons. They worked well for her but they were basically 18 minute lessons if we're being honest. She moved to coach who throws for an hour and the new coach is great. I do think that should be the norm 8th grade...
I hate the Usssa tournaments around us. The 3 inning games are a joke. But... traditionally hasn't birth year been the norm? Usa just recently went to it to school year?
Sounds like scrimmages. We played in one of these a couple weeks ago, everyone complains every year about this tournament and then they all sign up again to play they same tournament the next year.
Interesting, I don't know the rules of softball and don't say anything during games. But we had runners on 2nd and 3rd, ground ball to the SS. Runner from second runs over the SS. Interence was called. Girl on 2nd was out, girl on 3rd was called back and the hitter stayed at first. Should...
Last weekend we watched what I'd would guess would be described as lower mid major D1 game. One pitcher topped out at 55 or 56, I can't remember. Great drop and a change that was underutilized. It was a 2-1 game, the pitcher that threw harder won. She didn't sit 61. I was surprised about...
We are a 2010 team, mostly 2028's. I would be shocked if our coach submitted anything. I also believe he will do a good job with college coaches. It's 8th grade I really don't care.
I can see the spin when I'm catching great but sometimes I get caught in between looking at the body position and actually catching the ball. My daughter has had 2 coaches and I have caught for both. She has played with a girl who goes to Canaday's coach and apparently she catches.
My daughter most likely steps over the line on her screw, she's never been called. She's actually been working on going away from the dramatic angle just so doesn't give away what is coming before she releases the pitch.
