Which states HS tournament games are the sooners watching? Their starting lineup only had a catcher and a second baseman from Oklahoma. The starting lineup had 4 girls from California, who doesn't have a state tournament, Maybe they're watching Arizona's state HS tournament since the pitcher and short stop are from there.
I saw Gasso's son at a random game in Norman in the middle of the season watching Donahoo (I assume since it was Norman High vs Mustang) play. Nobody is saying TB isn't where most of the recruiting goes on (outside of camps..) but they do go to HS games in particular to watch in-state kids they probably already have verbal commits from.

Gasso, herself, must have been in another state watching kids who will actually start at OU.
Interesting that 3 of the 5 instate signees club with teams from other states.

?? What is your issue? Nobody is saying softball in Oklahoma is the best in the world. You asked a question regarding why coaches from OU would attend a state tournament in Oklahoma. I showed you that they had 5 committs from OK HS hence it is reasonable that they would go and watch.

While i don't condone bailing out on your team and would never let my DD do it that is a total hit piece and a if i was one of the girls parents i would be irate that something like that was published. College, i would get you're an adult, but highschools kids, not so much.

Seems to me like someone wanted to do some public shaming.

Mixed feelings on this... it feels like half a story with limited details and lots of personal opinion mixed in.
Especially since they couldn't really get a quote from anyone directly associated with the team other than "we play with who is here".

And naming and shaming high school students feels dirty.

and for the record I have no idea if any OU coaches went to Oklahoma HS state tournament as I didn't go. I was too busy crying in my soup over the fact that I don't live in the softball capital of the world, e.g. wherever @lancergriffin lives.

It's just school ball, nobody cares about the school team. It's a break from travel ball from Feb-May, a time for the kids to play on a team with their school friends who they haven't played on the same teams with since they were 6-8 yo and hadn't started travel ball yet.
The colleges scout their travel teams, nobody pats attention to high school ball, most the kids are playing the wrong position because embodies mom can work BINGO nights more often or another kid's dad is a big booster and donated some PA speakers or usually because the science teacher who is coaching the team doesn't know that so and so, who is only a 9th grader, is already verbaled as a SS but this 12th grader who, may go play at some JC, has put in their time and helps the science teacher grade papers so the freshman plays outfield or is just used as a pinch runner.

Unless it's Norco or some other D1 powerhouse coached by travel ball coaches....its just school ball
When you make post like this, you lose all credibility. "Nobody" is a generalization that isn't supported by sheer numbers. Of course the arrogance displayed in your post demonstrates your sheer ignorance. BTW, I am a teacher and I will match my knowledge and resume against anyone. There are several on this site who know that I walk it instead of talking it.
