Who gets the loss?

Starting pitcher is pulled after 8 runs after the start of inning 2. My DD came in to relieve her in 2nd with no outs and bases loaded. My DD finished out the game but we never caught up.

Correct... you can't hide from your losses even if you never get a single batter out.

Now you can lose credit for a win if you get pulled from the game before X innings and you are in front when you are pulled (it is generally 4 innings in a 7 inning game - in timed games in tournaments in general I'll give the win as long as she pitched most of the game or the competitive part of the game)

A loss is charged to any pitcher who gives up the go ahead runs that their team never comes back from.
