hard to tell from the video, but it LOOKS like the established basepath at the time of the tag attempt is approx. center of the plate.......it also appears she is past the plate and well beyond the back of the batter's box, which i believe should extend 3.5' beyond the center of the plate

the case could easily be made, if our angles on the video appear correct, that she is more than 3' beyond the basepath as established at the point of the initial tag attempt

whether anyone is making that call in real time, I don't know........but were I to come out and plead my case on that play, I guess that would be the case I'd be trying to make......although would I have that depth of knowledge watching in real time from the dugout?

Dunno, but I'd like to think I'd politely try ;)
