What would be the best website or forum to teach our DDs better running and or sprinting skills?

There are many threads on DFP about pitching and hitting, but I can't seem to find a thread that focuses solely on increasing speed/quickness through improved running skills.

Any ideas, websites, or links that you know of ?....

Thanks

Looking for video and/or instruction.

And how sprinting relates to base running/stealing/sliding.

Thanks

We had a former Olympic coach come to a practice a few years back. Great tips and techniques for the girls.

To me, it's worth the money to bring in a knowledgeable track coach to work with them a couple times a year.

Get a hill with about 30degree grade around 50yards or so... every other day get where you can do 8 sets...

day 1 run down the hill.... slowly walk back up... then run back down

skip day/rest

day 2 run up the hill...slowly walk back down... then run back up

skip day/ rest

Work your way up to 8 sets per day.... JMHO

Go to the pitching section and look at Javasource's drive mechanics sticky. Plyometrics are a great way to increase burst speed. He gives examples of exercises with pictures. Do them 3 days a week, and if you can mix in squats, you will see significant changes in 6 to 8 weeks. As far as form, focus on the first step in burst speed. You will see most young athletes take a drop step first. Eliminate it. Next work on forward lean, getting out on the front of the foot, loose arm, neck and upper body muscles... Do short sprints, full effort. No jogging. Hope this helps.
