I find these posts hilarious because have you ever seen one looking for a weak 3rd pitcher.

Something like: ASA National bound team looking for that 3rd pitcher to hold down the bench and cheer the others on with excitement. She must have good dugout manners and support the other players while she stays cool in the shade. She needs to be athletic so just in case our #1 pitcher gets hot, we can sub her in to run the bases. A good attitude is a must!

I also get a kick out of coaches who pick up a RINGOR or two to go to a World Series with their team, then go back home and brag about how well they did on the message boards when they post their tryouts announcement for next season.

Went to USSSA World Series in 2012 with only 2 pitchers, and while that's not recommended, it worked out fine. Never played more than 2 games in a day. Easier to get by with 2 pitchers in Disney than many 1- and 2-day tournaments.

Nationals and World Series events receive kickbacks from the local hotels, so it is in their best interest to keep teams in town as long as possible. Therefore, you may only play one or two games a day until you reach Friday or Saturday of a week long tournament. It really stinks when you have 3 pitchers and play one game a day.

Sarcastic responses are not a help to anyone

You first post on DFP is requesting a STRONG pitcher and catcher to pay their own way to Orlando, FL to help your team do well in the USSSA ESPN World Series and you don't expect at least one or two sarcastic responses...

Kind of reminds me of all of the TB tryout posts in August...."We are an A-level team and plan to attend ASA/PGF Nationals and attend several college showcases. Open tryouts next week, we are looking for a pitcher, catcher, SS, 3B and CF...."

You are SOOOOO right!!!! Facebook pages are about to light up in another 2 weeks of teams "hoping" to get to the next level. Such a great way to saturate the local talent.
