Ball gets by catcher...the ball is on first base side behind catcher....the safety bag is present...you want the 1b to set up inside...the safety bag is not used to get an out...how are we setting up? The 1b that is?

ASA - If the ball is in foul territory on the 1B side, F3 (or whoever is covering 1B) can use the safety bag.

All I will tell you is that the rule states that the defense may use the orange portion of the base if the throw is coming from foul territory and the offense may run to the white portion of the base.

As long as you're in foul ground and to the right of the first base foul line, you're good. Directly behind the catcher should satisfy the requirements.
