My DD’s 18u team had a tournament last weekend. Her team didn’t end up winning due to it being an open tournament and our mid B team got crushed by an A team. However, my DD did pretty good when it came to running and stealing. My DD also stole home for her first time. Here are some videos of my DD running and stealing. If you have any tips for me and my DD we would greatly appreciate them.

Note: My DD is not a big fan of pushing herself and running as fast as she can if she doesn’t need to. We are currently trying to work on that.

I see her getting to full speed lickity-split. If she would like to see mechanics that could help her run more efficiently, You Tube may be an answer.

Thanks for the tip. I’ll be sure to check YouTube for some videos. She has another tournament this weekend so I’ll try to get some more videos of her.

Stealing home is awesome and she did it just like I envision it should be done. We talked about it for my DD's travel team, but we never had the right combination of players on third and at bat.

My question to you is whether the batter is aware when it is coming. She seems to be backing out of the box too quickly after the pitch. I wanted my larger batters toward the back of the box to push the catcher back, and to stay in place longer as a screen to keep the catcher from sighting the runner coming home.

I’m pretty sure the batter didn’t know my DD was coming since I think you can see her taking a practice swing right as my DD runs up. I honestly think it was a combination of luck and my DD trying to be as quiet and stealthy as possible when she ran up to home. The stealing of home wasn’t originally planned and my DD had actually been told to sacrifice herself but in her words “I thought that was a dumb plan so when I saw an opportunity to score I took it”. Our travel ball team has worked very little with stealing home and I’m pretty sure my DD even surprised the Head Coach when she did that.

Catcher should ALWAYS be checking lead runner on 3rd immediatly...

Faster pitcher 60mph+ = .3/.4 tenths of a second from release of pitch to the batter/catcher.
Runners take little over 2+ seconds to run a base path.

That should be an out!

Great husle tho!!!
That video is a keepsake!!!
Reminder to keep defense paying attention!!!
