The things that helped were assuming every pitch is a strike and only having to say no if it isn't and starting her hands earlier instead of waiting to decide if it is a strike before starting them.
Thanks for all the good advise. Last weekend, my daughter played in a tournament and hit the ball every at bat. She got three hits and drove in a run. The advise seems to be working.
