After buying several cheap off-the-shelf gloves, at the rate of one a year for the last three years, I decided to get DD a nice glove. Hopefully, this one will last through High School. She is a Freshman and will be playing HS in addition to her 16U travel team this year.
I'm glad I let her...
I appreciate your input, Gambler Bob. We can only aspire to be as tough or good as teams are down in O'Fallon or St Louis. Hope you weren't laughing too hard at my post...
* Name of the tournament - The Howling (NSA Sanctioned) 10U-18U

That's why I posed the question and happy I did... She, and I, have decided to embrace the outfield and work hard at being great in CF. She can always play IF if needed...I feel much better now
LOL...same problem with her team last year so we found a new team for 22-23. Now when I complain, I'm getting crap from my wife for moving her from the old team because she is being used exactly the same way as last year.
That's a whole nother thread...lol. Because she's little (5'0"), fast, and can bunt, DD gets the bunt sign for the first two strikes 90% of the time. Therefore, when swinging away, she is usually hitting behind in the count. Because she is right-handed and fast, her coaches have practiced her...
Besides pitcher and catcher, which position creates the biggest challenge for a coach to find quality players?
The reason I ask is for the second year in a row, (different team/different coach) my 13yo DD, who I consider to be a smart and above-average middle infielder, is the starting center...
I second the renetto chairs, they are my wife's best friend as I have difficulty sitting for my DD's games. They are good for sun, rain, wind, are sturdy, and fold up nicely. The only drawback is probably the weight, they are a bit on the heavy side but have shoulder straps like a backpack.
Hey Bob, Yes we are West side!
Our new Liberty Junior high team was pretty strong this year and DD was part of that group. Hopefully, we don't lose too many of these girls to Providence next year.
My daughter is working to make the West team, we'll see...
BTW, cheering for the West football...
Thank you for the add!
My daughter is a 2027 who only began playing in the spring of 2021 rec league and has progressed rapidly. She is now starting in her second year of full-time travel. I hope to learn as much as possible as I am also a fastpitch newb.
😁
Thanks for the add.
I am a proud dad with a 13 yo DD starting her second year of FT travel. She only began playing in the spring of 2021 rec league and has progressed rapidly. I am hoping to learn as much as I can here.
