When to remove an ineffective pitcher

Not a parent. I am mentor to one of the pitchers, she did not pitch in this game, coach splits pitching assignments evenly, and as my student leads the team in innings pitched (barely), I've few grievences. My and the coach's frame of mind is not the issue, that's a subject for later. (Though...

When to remove an ineffective pitcher

Unfortunately, a serious question. Passive aggressive? I'll ask my psychiatrist when I'm reconfined.

When to remove an ineffective pitcher

When a relief pitcher is getting crushed, when is it enough? The scenario: U12 state tournament, extra innings, runner placed at 2nd base. The relief pitcher has been very effective to this point. As happens in sports, everything went wrong and the totals for that last inning: 47 pitches, 14...

    College strike zone, Sheeeesh

In my day, a pitch was called as it passed by or over home plate. Of course, some batters would set way back from home plate and an occasional blue would call a pitch as it passed by the batter, NOT home plate. Advantage to the smart batter. You're likely correct. Validity and wisdom don't necessarily sit at the same table. ;-)

Player pitching in two age classes simultaneously

Well, a couple scenarios. On Fridays, "guest' play but on S/S, play with the regular roster team. The 2nd scenario: if her regular team is eliminated too soon in a tournament. The basic problem is her regular team carries too many pitchers and at week's end, all are underused. But that's a...

Player pitching in two age classes simultaneously

Thank you all. In this case, she'd pitch for two different orgs; likely different tournaments but perhaps same weekends. The local grapevine --hardly an authority-- has it that pitching for an older team allows playing for a younger team but no pitching.

Player pitching in two age classes simultaneously

My apologies if this issue was covered in the past but as a 'newbie', I am weak navigating this site. Are softball pitchers allowed to pitch in two age groups simultaneously i.e. "guest" at 14U and a full time rostered pitcher in 12U? Might the issue vary by organization?
