My DD's coach uses a tarp. Pretty much the same thing as a back stop but maybe a little safer on the ricochet . She used it more often in he beginning, but still breaks it out once in a while for specific drills.
unfortunately, this is just part of the game. Move to the other side of the mound. If this is your home field, you could put in mound bricks across the landing area and that will fix the issue.
There are other brands but here is an example...
If you are going to do lessons, find out what the coach teaches. Watch how this pitcher is palm up going down the back before release. make sure they teach this. NOT, palm down.

This video covers most of the “IR in the classroom” thread at the top of the pitching forum. There are other threads at the top of the pitching forum that are great.

Our team used these for a while. They were hands down the favorite sock (the other brand used was 3n2).
I don’t know if the solid version is exactly the same though...
Look at slo mo of Amanda Scarborough. Monica Abbott, Yukio Uneo, Cat oesterman.
I know there are others but that is generally the top of the list of recommendations to look at.
my 22 has a 22GA and a 24GA, both 32 -10
GA22 - 22.5oz
GA24 - 22.8oz
For some reason I remember @CoreSoftball20 saying that the 24 are generally closer to sticker than the 22, my dd just got the exception.
I am a natural lefty taught to play righty. I throw a football lefty.
I believe there might be some advantages to having the glove be on your dominant hand. I had a funky arm action growing up that used to cause me elbow pain if I threw a lot. Generally if I made a mistake it was throwing...
100%. My DD always uses her bat, regardless of the temp. My issue is the the "how to break in a bat" piece. I see it all over the place, swing easy... of the tee. whatever it is. Yes, I know that after break in, the ball will go further. But if there was some break in process that ensures...
I very clearly stayed, not once, but twice in this thread that I agreed with the ruling. If you follow the conversation
I was responding to @Rolling Hard as to why someone would want to to be inclusive. Simple as that. These children,.... no whole families, are going through a lot. When...
I've never seen easton specs on how to break in a bat. Is there a link to that you can share? The 60 degree is for the life of the bat. Balls lose their elasticity as it gets colder, putting more stress on the bat.
When my dd was 9, the facility had home plates that have a lip. I took one right in the temple. Ohhhh Mama. It hurt at 40. I can't imagine what 50+ would feel like. I've since gone to a mask and I still need to work on not turning my head.
As has been mentioned this happens at the MLB level. In a typical MLB season, a pitcher will get 33-35 starts. David Cone, who was VERY good, has said he expects 6-7 starts a year where everything is working. At the same time another 6-7 starts with NOTHING is working. The other 20 starts...
