So at B/I is the hip closed? what comes first the ball or the closing of the hips? I always assumed that if you close the door before you get to B/I you would end up pitching around the hip? If you look at Kens pic of Sara, it appears her hips are closed well before B/I.
Thank in advance
8 months in to working the backhand CU and she struggles with consistency and slows her arm down, but every great once in a while I will have her throw the horseshoe CU she is much more consistent, arm circle looks like her fastball. The issue is the PC teaches the backhand, she is a good coach...
Thank you Big Mouth, I think you are getting my DD and where she is at. No matter if the results are good or not so good, the first words out of our mouth are "we are proud of you", unless she has a melt down, then nothing is discussed, talking about it makes it worse. We never analyze her...
So my 14U DD is a very hard working perfectionist, who thinks errors or mistakes are the end of the world, hung head, tears, . . . She can make 10 tough plays in a row but make 1 error and it's on, no throwing of bats or helmets, just flat out sulking. Our family mantra for sports is to do...
I had a kid who would never stay behind the ball with his hand, always had a 3-6 spin like a curve rotation, used hockey pucks to get the 6-9 rotation.
So it it unethical when a coach offers a spot after tryouts, you tell them that your DD wants to do a couple of tryouts over the next couple of weeks, he says ok, but then calls you to put you on the spot for a decision a week later, you commit knowing full well your DD still wants to tryout for...
I agree with commish, unless asked by a parent, I stay out of the business of pitching mechanics especially if they have a PC, last thing I would want is a coach who believes in HE to change my DDs I/R.
- Focus on building her confidence (goes beyond the game of SB)
- Let her know you believe...
Besides the size and the fold out legs, what makes it worth double the cost? Thicker net? Not worried about trying to keep up with the Jones, just want something that will last.
Thanks to not staking down the trampoline as instructed by my wife after moving it (3rd trampoline), it became a kite, after I recovered the mangled carnage, I removed the trampoline mat and we now have a large durable backstop strung up in the basement, works great, pitch and hit into it...
If you can find one, let me know, closest I found was Seneca, IL Jonathan Hon (Tincher Instructor), went to him for a couple of lessons, great guy, but the drive is over two hours.
Thank you Bill, I get it, to a 9 year old drills are boring, I try my best to explain the "why" behind them, like the two step drill I wanted to work on tonight, she lacks leg drive which I think prevents her from getting all the way open, but in her mind, it's all about just getting on the...
