So if MTR had posted that rule in post #2 and no one else chimed in, that would meet your expectation for a discussion? Not 80+ posts with (mostly) civil answers and opinions?
Seems to me you received many answers, you just didn't like most of them. MTR's post didn't answer your question at...
IMO, if she's already pressuring herself then maybe she just needs help finding (and believing) the positives? I know my DD doesn't believe a word I say when I praise her, but if I help her find a positive on her own it seems to sink in better. Dunno. It's not easy. for sure.
Not false equivalence, slippery slope. And sure, not compelling for maintaining the status quo, but there's also no compelling argument to re-chalk at arbitrary points during the game.
What you don't see is the grounds crew relining any part of the field. It takes considerably longer to line the boxes than it does for 6 or 7 guys to make a single pass with field drags.
Nope. She stepped in front of the plate. Not in the exact middle in front of the plate, definitely to the right side, but in front of the plate. At best, her heal would have been in the river.
Because it takes too much time.
Once you've done the BB's, what next - re-chalk the circle and foul lines? Maybe drag the infield for a 5th inning stretch?
And really, none of it matters. When the batter steps in front of the plate or on the plate, the call is simple. No lines needed.
No - she called it almost immediately. She's waving for dead ball before the outfielder gets to the ball.
Oh, and it was good call: batter clearly steps in front of the plate which is out of the box.
And now up 6-0 in an elimination game, bottom 5, she does it again! WTH? Run rule territory and she's pinch hitting?? What is the thought process here?
I was watching OSU/Zona this morning, and top 7 down 2, OSU goes with 3 pinch hitters in a row (I think it was 5-6-7 hitters). No lefty/righty matchup, and 2 of the PH's had under 50 PA's on the season as well as lower OPS (girls they replaced had over 100). Same Zona pitcher all game.

The ESPN contract is for pretty much all college sports, so I don't know that fastpitch is contributing a lot to the revenue stream currently. And I get what you're saying about CBS, but in 7 years who knows? Long view.
Yep, TV money. It's not there yet, obviously, but ESPN has more coverage every year and the NCAA is pretty good at finding revenue streams. They're just getting in early, making sure the product is marketable outside of the fastpicth community. The NCAA takes a long view, and the current ESPN...
Maybe so, but not as much fun as the kids that actually did wear Mario's cap!
This isn't stuffy old baseball, it's friggin fastpicth, and it's new (to most folks), and it's played by young women who make it fun by being silly and good at the same time. The only reason the NCAA is stepping in...
A perfect Saber lineup in MLB is worth a win or 2 over 162 games, but as noted above the gap between the top and bottom is pretty small, and there are plenty of seasons where 1 or 2 games make a difference.
What I love is when my opponents put their best hitters up top and worst hitters at the...
