That's a shame. In college softball you have some great athletes in the catcher's position but not what I would call great receivers. In the MLB you have a few great receivers.........
Kluber's movement was nasty! How many LH batters bailed out and gave up on a pitch only to have the ball come back and hit well into the plate? That is down-right filthy from a RH pitcher.
When my dd was a sophomore in HS the starting 3B had a concussion and was out for a week. My dd came out from behind the plate and played 3 games at 3B and did a great job. She threw out bunters, slappers, etc. like it was her natural position. The other catcher was ecstatic because it gave...
It depends. Did the BR touch first, turned towards 2B, then get tagged out by 1B? If this is the case the run scores. If the 1B tagged out the BR before she reached first then the run does not count.
Change their mindset!
Phathead, I agree no contact is needed in order for INT to be called. However, your fielders need to focus on the ball and not the runner/BR. It is the runners/BR's job to make sure they do not interfere with a fielder making a play. It is the fielders job to make sure...
My dd, also a good receiver, caught mid-60's pitchers with no numbness, soreness or sprains. She used a Capire Kip Leather 34" mitt. The exta inch does help. Also, her index finger is out of the mitt and on the padded finger rest.
If your dd is using Vinci mitts, then what's the purpose of using a padded glove? Vinci's have tons of padding and a padded glove should not be necessary if she's catching the ball properly. If it's a moisture wicking issue, I would suggest a non-padded glove.
The 2 major padded gloves are Xprotex and Palmgard. I don't even know if they make them in women and youth sizes. Honestly, you're better off buying a better catchers mitt.
Either sandwich is fine. Keep the jelly on the thin side and the only condiment that should go on the ham and cheese sandwich is mustard. Turkey and cheese would be another good choice. Consider flour tortilla's instead of bread.
