My dad, whom I adore to this day, was always very supportive of me growing up. When I tried out for the LL team on the military base we lived on, my Special Forces dad threatened to kick the Marine corps coaches a$$ after he commented that "girls can't play baseball" at the tryout.
I say that...
I wonder what some comments have been by your DD's!
Mine said it last night, and it's a sad commentary to her previous select team:
Walking out of the park she says "I love this new team! I never got dirty on the other one!"
Just heard about a 12u tourney where two coaches were thrown out because Coach A got into it with Coach B (other team's 3rd base coach) after Coach B's taunting turned into calling Coach A's pitcher a Bi__h, while she was trying to pitch. (yes, this a grown man calling a 12 yo girl a profane...
Personally, I think managing the clock is part of the game.
HOWEVER....
If you ask if what you did was right or not, then you probably have issues with your own behavior..,
HAHAHA!!! That was funny!
Personally, I don't think guys should be able to coach unless they can:
A) put a girl's hair back into her ponytail that she had to take out to be able to wear her batting helmet.
B) recite at least 5 cheers from memory
C) remove stud earrings from an ear that was...
Our Rec league has a 2 per inning rule, and then you have to replace the pitcher for that inning. A pitcher can only be replaced 2 innings, and she's done pitching for the game...
On a sidenote, my DD (11 yo) is a frickin ball magnet!! She has two BLUE bruises on her left thigh from last...
I have to agree here...
This is 10U REC ball. Why are only 2 girls being allowed to start a game, when you have admitted that this kid is a "decent" pitcher? 'Rec' is to get better. 'Rec' is to learn how to play. 'Rec' is to learn how much fun softball can be. 'Rec' is to try different...
What should be the right call on the following:
1 out, runner on 3rd.
Batter hits a pop fly foul down third base line. Runner at 3rd had already taken her leadoff, and was returning to her base when she and the 3rd baseman collided. The 3rd baseman was attempting to catch the foul. The runner...
I rode my bike to and from practice every day. My dad was in the military and my mom had other kids to take care of...they NEVER came to a practice, and very few games. Who cares? I did it because I like playing ball, not because I ached for their approval. And I'm pretty sure my coach did...
yep....I made my DD do her 2 sports, and other non-athletic committments when she was "just so tired!" This went on a month....
She had mono....
I have handed in my Mother of the Year Award...
Well, I know several girls who have ended up playing on different teams than my daughter. One way I have found to keep the parents from getting catty to my daughter or each other is to go and sit with them for the first inning or so. That way, it is a gentle reminder that when all is said and...
