    Glove recommendation - help appreciated!

I started out as an inexperienced softball dad and tried to find that ONE glove that would serve us well. Well, 10 years later and a lot of research done (listening to my players) and a lot of $ spent trying to find the magic glove I learned there isn't a magic glove once you get past 12U, Your...

    Need Advice on Best Glove

We have used the LS LXT 11.75 for the SS position and it is a great glove. I just saw some for $95 online in a search RHT. It will lose its grey color over the course of a season. Larger gloves for infield at age 15 and up are slower, meaning slower transfer time to throw. We see a lot of 12's...

    Glove recommendation - help appreciated!

Looks like a solid glove. Reminds me of a Rawlings GG Elite. If you can get a lot of mileage out of a Bradley like that then it is either a great glove or it isn't being used as aggressively as it should. We got two seasons out of a Rawlings GG Elite 12" H web and were happy. I think a Bradely...

    Glove recommendation - help appreciated!

A 12" glove with a closed pocket is solid for hiding hand grip for a pitcher. At 12U I doubt they are seeing a whole lot of technical pitches? I am sure there are some super stars out there with $20k in pitching lessons that can throw multiple pitches but I would bet 99% of the girls out there...

    Glove recommendation - help appreciated!

You asked if an 11.75 glove would work for the outfield. My daughter made it work lol although she admits the 12" would have been a better glove for that without a doubt. She uses a 12.5 and a 12.75 now at the college level same as her outfield teammates use. She said it is rare to see a 13" on...

How much money do you have to spend? A2000, Mizuno Pro models, Rawlings HoH are all nice but.... she is 11. Those gloves are for super serious players down the road, or for players who have dad's that need their girls to look pro in front of everybody and money is no object. My daughter tried a...

    Youth catchers mitt

My daughter used an older Louisville Bionic catcher's mitt, I think 32.5 and used it up until the end of 16U and it caught 12" balls well. It is a little heavier but definitely a decent tool behind the plate. If she is getting stung a lot then perhaps she is a little bit off on her catch and...

Shout out to Vinci & Drakemir

For sure! The palm pad was the focus of my energies. Getting the sides to move at all is not going to happen until that palm pad has been tamed. I still think back to when we opened the box and took the glove out-it was a brick!! < A good home defense weapon.

Shout out to Vinci & Drakemir

I don't have any magic to share. It was work, a lot of work like no other glove I have tried to conquer. I bent it, stretched it by hand, crumpled it, threw it on the ground like a slam ball, more out of frustration than a process, hit it with a baseball bat on the grass until I got tired. I put...

Shout out to Vinci & Drakemir

I read what you wrote about breaking in your Vinci..... It tried to defeat me, it tried really hard. However, three months later and a lot of use it has been throttled. We grabbed a 34" Fastpitch catchers mitt. We have the A2000, Rawling HoH, Mizuno Prime, Rawlings Liberty and a Nokona and the...

I think you hit on something very important here. Player development. If your coach/coaches are not putting in the work to develop players then what are they here for? I would hope they do more than fill out line up lists and give signals to steal or bunt for example. In my opinion, if a coach...

HS coaches say they like multi-sport athletes but......

I want to preach my belief that as a coach I am out to help the kids write their story. I have written mine, and I don't need the accolades, nor the feeling of absolute power to satisfy my ego. I am out to win games for sure however, I am out to bring out the best in my players both on and off...

HS coaches say they like multi-sport athletes but......

As a coach of 17 years wirh only one losing season I would add to the communication thing being extremely important. I treat situations on an individual basis. If a player communicates with me and I know they have a great work ethic in my practices I am somewhat lenient and most likely won't sit...

HS coaches say they like multi-sport athletes but......

I don't know if it is just our area, smaller more rural school vs anywhere else but here they think they know everything and parents know nothing. When you observe, and I mean as objectively as you can it is obvious they are favoring their kids and other teachers kids over everyone else. All I...

Finding the magic chemisry on a team is everything for young athletes. Being on a team where other players are not laughing at your mistakes or hoping you strike out is a plus, but having supportive teammates and a coach that keeps pushing you to give him all you got is just what the Dr...
