In the game, the base runner was going to be out at the plate. The runner grabbed the catcher's mitt and pulled the ball out of the glove. What was the correct call?

You can see the play at the 14:37 mark of the video.

I would have interference, runner is out at the plate, other runner would have to go back to 2nd since she did not LEGALLY occupy 3rd (even though that is where she was standing at the time of the play, the runner at the plate still legally held 3rd until and unless she reaches the plate)

I say out because she tagged the runner and then had the ball ripped from her glove by the runner. But I also learned today, in another thread, that the umpire(s) never determines the outcome of the game...therefore, she must be safe as ruled at the time. /sarcasm I never saw the home plate umpire make a call on the video...did I miss it?

The plate work of this crew has not been great. He was not anticipating the play and was caught out of position. Seems this crew has a habit of getting too close to the play; you have to be setup far enough away to see all of the play happening.

Same crew also had an issue on the third of fourth inning of this game when no one covered second base with no runners on and a double by Bama.

Interesting fact: Birmingham only looks at what is challenged and not anything else. In yesterday's game when the Bama runner was safe at home (no call initially made at home) and then overturned all they look at was the tagged made. If they looked at the entirety of the play there was definite obstruction. For Birmingham to review for obstruction, Murph would have had to appeal and specify for obstruction.

Side note: pulling the ball out of the glove is a low class act. Not surprising and probably not the first time she's done that.

You could tack on unsportsmanlike conduct as well.

I was surprised Murphy didn't call for a review. I thought the catcher held the ball long enough to get the out anyway, but even the announcers thought it was ripped from the mitt.

The Gators knocked the mighty Fouts out of the box. And then Kilfoyle. Nice win.
