Does position in the batting order matter?

Batting #4 is a neon sign saying "She is our best hitter." You said she is getting walked more and getting HBP. That means they are being very careful with her.

Especially in youth sports. This isn't MLB or NCAA where you have valuable scouting reports. Pitchers essentially have to pitch generic patterns (leadoff = speed, 2nd = contact, 3rd = contact/power, 4th = power/best hitter, rinse repeat).

It's crazy, but we actually camp some of our best fastball hitters late in the lineup...Pitchers just thow gas thinking things will be easy... and get they rear surprised as the balls go flying all over the place
