    So no rule on this exists in USSSA, Pony, ASA and Babe Ruth? Is moving up in the fall just done on our own? I'm really trying to find out if there is a written rule in the above organizations. I guess I can email each organization and wait for a reply

    Does her wrist break?

    Am I still confused?... You're trying to have your daughter do a check swing that could possible make contact, but if she misses the ball it will not be called a strike??? If this is the case I think the umpire will see the intent and call a strike.

    I have a couple of girls that hold that bat like that and they are always late on their swings. I believe the swing gets long. I agree that how you setup matters little, but if you watch all the major league players, they all get into a very similar position just prior to the swing.

    Girls using illegal bats. Lawsuits?

    A shaved bat is about 1- 1/2 ounce lighter (on a 34/28 bat) and when you pop off the end cap the inside will be smooth. A none shaven bat will have a very rough inside. A rolled bat has no signs of change because you're really just breaking down the composite material to make the ball jump.
