    My granddaughter

Yes, I have been gone, for awhile. In the meantime, my granddaughter is growing up. She is entering 7th grade.

    No more buckets

I have used a gardening stool, for 25 years. It has wheels, sits low and hold the softballs.

I love coaching, but my daughter hates me.

Coach some little girls. Then, your DD will end up helping you. Talk to her about respect. My husband never let the kids run over me, so to speak. I do the same with my adult daughter. If my granddaughter is being awful, to her mom, I step in.

    Rattle snake country

She is 10. Her mom and I will coach her in rec ball, next month. She doesn’t want to bat. I am going to hire former U of A coach Larry Ray, to teach her to slap.

Pitching instructor won’t allow dd coach to attend lesson

Oh, geez. I welcome coaches, parents, grandparents and the family dog. But, then, I will be 66 on Saturday. I’m a bit different.

    JV or Varsity?

We loved JV. She was needed and it gave the team a chance to win.

10u parents are the very best

I have a team mom or dad handle parties and t-shirts. She happens to be an attorney. We are in the same page. As far, as a gift exchange, I simply would say NO. But, I am 65 and I think the parents avoid me. 😁

    Coaching Power Struggle

I’m sorry that you are in this situation. My feeling is that you probably know more than the head coach. Everything else has already been said. Good luck.

    Handling of team/player finances

I have lived in 2 cities where there were major thefts from baseball and football. I mean $50,000. I now want to see bank statements, if I’m paying dues.

Five hour practice Saturday and Sunday at 12u

I haven’t read all of the replies. I am familiar with a program, as described. I choose not to have my granddaughter play there. But, they have no shortage of players. They have no shortage of teams and are expanding. One of my former pitching students flew in, from a distant country, to play...

    The "Hissy-Quit"

Geez. Get the girl some playing time. Why carry her, if she is not going to play?

    Needing more accuracy.....

What age group and how long has she been taking lessons?

Embrace and Enjoy the DD you have

I figured this out, this 10u season. I tried to make my GDD, like my DD. I even called her by her mother’s name twice. I also called a 9 yo pitcher by her 15 yo cousin’s name. I blame it on old age.

    Release and after Release

    Nice pictures. She looks great.

    GDD finally figured it out

It has been a journey, with her mom as my assistant. But, all is good. We had to adjust to treating her as “any other player.”

    Article on overbearing father

Oh, dear. I had a player and he was a SS. This was his dad, exactly. He had a shirt, that said “I don’t need meetings. A six pack is my support group.” He drank alcohol out of his water bottle. He abused his wife, until they divorced. He, too, had been an athlete. His son was very good. I had to...

    GDD finally figured it out

We lost, but we will take advancements where we can find them.
