My freshman daughter hit her first Varsity HR yesterday. A no doubter to left field to tie the game in the 6th inning. Even better is that her team pulled out the win in the 10th inning. Great game!
My daughter's 14u team won their Nationals tournament. No, it's not PGF, but it was still a great experience. They played great all week, and even though they are a Futures team, they beat a number of 2nd year teams. Great group of girls, and a great drama free team!
I was at 1 day of the Clearwater Invitational and I think there were something like 14 home runs in the 3 games I watched. All but 2 of them were crushed and would have been out if the fences were 220ft - some of them were def over 250ft. It's crazy to me that many colleges play on field with...
Just bought tickets to attend the Clearwater Invitational in Feb. We had friends attend last year and they had a great time. Any tips or advice on what to do/see or what to avoid? Thanks!
Hats off to my daughter's team that finished runner up in their first tournament after moving up to 14U. The girls started slowly, but then turned it on and played very well on Sunday in the rain - losing to a second year 14U team in the championship. Great job all around!
Has anyone ever seen a facility use them? I haven't here in the NY/NJ/PA/CT area and I am continually amazed that organizations/towns/facilities will spend millions of dollars on fields and not spend another $2K-$4K on a tarp. Especially places that host Nationals. It seems like a smallish...
My daughter is a pretty good 12U hitter. However, this is her last season of 12U and the combination of being very comfortable with 99% of 12U pitchers and seeing some slower pitchers has her developing a bad habit of lunging out on her front foot. She's losing all of her power and weakly...
The first weekend in April my daughter's 12U team was in a stacked USSSA tournament in South Jersey featuring 24 high level teams from CT, NY, NJ, PA, MD, and DE. Right out of the gate our first game was against a team who is a top 10 national USSSA team. It was a pitchers duel and our...
Had our first experience playing at this complex this past weekend. It's far from complete (more on that), but it's pretty impressive. 8 new turf fields with 8 ft tall adjustable outfield fencing, a few batting cages, and room to warm up.
They are still waiting on their CO for their...
We were at a tournament this weekend and our field was back to back with another one. While we were waiting for our game I started watching the game on the field next to us. Very competitive game, but what stood out was one of the coaches was literally cursing every other word in front of and...
I'm guessing this is a regional thing, but here in NJ there is a distinction between travel ball and club ball. When we refer to a "travel" team it's a town travel team that is only able to pull players from that town or a few neighboring towns if there is a regional high school. Typically...
Parent of 12U player. She's been playing since t-ball and loves the game. We've been through rec, town travel, and club and have really enjoyed the journey. Thanks!
