This is why I usually don't get involved in threads. Too much hostility. Don't know who mann is or much about HI except for what I've read on here.
I was just reading a thread about " Turning the Barrel " and everyone always uses Pujols or Cabrera as models. Sheffield popped in my head as...
Usually I just lurk , read and swing a bat to figure things out.
Just had a quick question. Does anyone have any video of Gary Sheffield? That guy had the quickest bat and most active hands of anyone I ever seen. Just wondering if he would fit in this thread.

That is exactly what my daughter does. Lean back , drop the hands. Any good drills to help correct this. She does pretty good off the tee , but in game situations she leans back. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
We have a slapper on our team that bunts one handed. She is lightening fast. Hear a lot of coaches say " did you see that?" Really deadens the ball when you do it right. But she is moving toward the pitcher when she does it. Holds the bat about in the middle. Never seen a righty do it though.
She pitched pretty well at 2010 Nationals. Friend of mine's daughters team beat her in game 5. Still she had 18 k's that game.
Finucane Rocks ASA Nationals
Interesting thread. Watch this video and see what you think of her style. Supposedly throwing mid 60's and a verbal commit to Mizzou as a Sophomore. Looks like she strides to left to clear her hips but her head and throwing shoulder stay more over the power line.

Thanks everyone for the great advice.
MTS , thanks for the video and front shoulder advice.
Straightleg, thanks for the very informative post. Always respect your opinion
Still a little unsure of the weight transfer issue , but will keep working and post another video down the road
Both great observations. Thanks! Been trying to get her to FEEL weight transfer but has been hard going. Still searching board for good drills for this. Maybe medicine ball?
Love the front shoulder cue also!
I doubt many people teach Arnold Palmers golf swing , but he made it work for him and helped change the game of Golf with it.
Just saying , sometimes people really over analyze this stuff. Look at Nick Faldo. He was a robot. Technically perfect , but never as good a golfer as Palmer.
My DD's batting coach has done some great things with her swing , as well as helping her with pitch recognition and gaining confidence.
One thing that amazed me though , was how he helped her with her pitching. She is 12 and only 80 lbs. He knows that she doesn't have overpowering stuff at this...
I can remember when Rene Lachemann ( third base coach for the Cardinals ) used to stand about 50ft away from the third base coaches box every time Mark McGwire would come to the plate. Nobody ever said anything to him either. Cant imagine getting hit by something he turned on.
Fowler beat Nebraska last night. I know a couple girls on the Husker team and they were looking forward to playing them. My daughter goes to the same coach as Ashley Hagemann , she took the loss.:)
