A 9 year old nearly cracking 50? Really?
We have really really good 13 and 14 year olds here that are the cream of the local crop that throw in the 50's. And thats smokin for us. Forgive me if I seem skeptical, but what do you guys feed your kids where you're at?
Usually, I like to just let sleeping dogs lay, but I couldn't resist. We began using this bat extensively last week with my Zooka machine and tennis balls with my son and duaghter. (Previously, we used it sparingly off a Tee.) My daughter hasn't played any recent games, however, my son has...
We use it, but you have to be very very careful with Tee placement. I found that if the tee is too far out in front the hitter will actually begin dragging the bat to hit it straight. But I believe that every tool has to be carefully used. The sweet spot seems to be right about the belt buckle...
One of things we have done is put the kid in the box and do NOT let them swing. Get someone to pitch that can throw a good strike and a good change up. Just have the child stay in the box, track the ball and shout FASTBALL or CHANGE-UP as soon as she recognizes the pitch. Then when the ball...
Seems to me that the main component of a good slapper is the crossover step. If you are doing a cross over from the righty box, wouldn't that make it very innefficient and difficult to get going to first after contact. Seems like your feet would be all twisted up and ready to run to third...
Been awhile since I have posted anything.
Hayley hit two monster shots today at a 14U "A" tournament. I don't know how to slow them down to post them here, but in slow motion on my computer, I am at a point where it is hard for me to see what she can improve. All I know is we worked hard in...
Hey everyone,
My 13 yo daughter has a 2007 Rip-It Elite REFP1 31/22 (The yellow bananna bat) that she is getting close to out growing. She is 5'5" and is very very strong. This is the third season its been in her bag and is her favorite bat. She has tried many but always comes back to this...
My daughter has come quite a ways with maintaining connection through the swing and getting on plane with her shoulders and tilt however she has a bug squishing problem that is causing way too many problems, especially staying on plane as it sometimes pushes her up and forward mid swing and its...
I spent a considerable amount of time last night viewing my daughters videos in slow motion. I see three things I want to work on right off the bat )(pardon the pun).
1st of all, she is lifting her front foot and setting it right back down with an almost straightish leg and a flat foot when she...
Frames 8 through 17 is what I am tying to reenforce with my daughter. Frames 1 through 7 looks to me more. Result of this young ladies personal style, but by frame 8 her hand is just back of the shoulder and she is doing a slight turn back with her shoulder and then the swing happens. Through...
I like your suggestion about rythm. I will implement that soon. I like a lot of what your saying over all, but I have to use simple things like the towel to get a point across. Using the water bottle sounds very complicated to me, which would make it very dificult to get a point across to my...
I thought thats what you meant. Right now I have her taking a slight turn back and that is ONLY because of the rolled up towel I have her pinching between the bat and her shoulder.I know she has to have a negative movement back, but think its more important to work on the connection drill 1st. I...
Heres a new video of the daughter. Dont tell her I posted it. Shhhh.

We have been working pretty hard, we're using towel to help us remember the connection between hip shoulder and hands.
Hitter, I saw a picture from either SBFAMILY or STRAIGHTLEG maybe of this device bit cant determine specs, usage, etc. from the single picture I saw. Is this something that I can make at home? Would you divulge how you make it and use it? It's okay if you don't wish to give that information out.
I was getting there actually, about the dominant eye I mean. Glad you brought that up as I was about to ask where you would want your dominant eye when staring at a pitcher, but that is for another discussion I suppose.
So, at least 2 of you have said you think the lead arm is more important. Hitter and Mark, I am not sure where they stand, but I'll pose my question anyway.
My daughter is left handed and therefore stronger with her left arm, more coordinated with her left arm, etc. She sets up at home plate...
