Try instead of we are reaching out, try just having her reach out. Most coaches want the player to be independent. May not take her serious if parents are doing all the communicatin.
Just looked at the NCAA field diagram, and I stand corrected. You are correct. But if you look at the diagram. The lines are on the inside of the width of the pitcher plate and go at an angle to be 25” when they meet the circle. Without doing math, I am going to go with the when you look at...
It is USSSA, so it will change tomorrow. Each Tournament Director and UIC will have their own set of rules and it will be enforced differently everwhere you play. And if it is called and the team tells the TD they won’t come back, it will be changed right then and there…..$$$$$$$
And they have made so many rule changes it is hard to keep track of them. Not to mention the Umpire powers to be have to think they have to change mechanics etc. I will never understand why we had to take such a simple game and try to make it difficult.
Not sure if the drag will be a thing of the past, but if these pitching coaching, if that is really what they are, start teaching the leap like we have been seeing.
We will start seeing a lot more knee issues with the girls. Probably some hip issues also. Big difference between disengaging and...
I am not saying I am calling anything with the new pitching rule. I just stated to not be surprised if it is called when they leap like the pitcher in pic. Some coaches and umpires will interpret that as a replant.
And I get new rulebooks every year, and yes I spend a lot of time reading and...
The Sterling ball is a very good ball. Don’t see the Trump ball very often to really have an opinion on it. But to me, the Sterling is one of the better ones.
I don’t believe the rule state leaping is legal……..it states they may disengage from the ground. A big difference from a pitcher that is an inch or so off the ground. Much like we seen called in the NCAA World Series, and the pitcher you had in your own post. I am thinking that one may still get...
Just so we are all clear on the new high school pitching rule.
Read the rule. Don’t go by what you hear.
It never mentions “LEAPING“. Obviously “leaping “ is disengaging the pivot foot from the surface. Most pitchers do disengage but they don’t leap.

Just curious about how much you paid to participate in this grand event?
in the state I live in, there were 1143 players that participated. At $85.00 each. Do that math……can you say money grab? Parents where are your heads? You do realize you are just building new homes and buying new cars for...
To me as an umpire it is just a waste of time…..something else to delay the game. We now have teams wanting to throw it a round the horn after a ground ball put out, and then come to a huddle at the mound. you are there to play the game, not celebrate every little out. Some time you see this in...
You forgot no insurance.
rainouts, no pay
And don’t really think you could support a wife and a couple kids on what any umpire makes on the non professional level.
You are correct, it probably is a $20 billion dollar sport. But the umpires aren’t making it. Sure they make $500 Or $600 on a real good weekend. But we have expenses and we are away from family. So what is that worth?
The ones making the money are the tournament directors, the state directors...
