Just out of curiosity, why isn't the Summit of Softball or Warner Park used for the championships? We live in GA and ours are in Columbus where the Olympics were held.
Honestly it's better to be over prepared than not, the girls on our teams always came to me because they knew that I (almost) always had what they needed. You can always tie a couple of large garbage bags to a tent if there aren't any cans near. I also saw where someone attached a cheap...
My daughter played HS ball her junior and senior years. This was after she totally quit playing softball going into her freshman year. Literally didn't pick a ball or bat up for 2 years until 2 of her friends that she played travel ball with (that were on her HS team) convinced her to try...
There was a Slow Pitch season this past spring, there were 8 teams that participated. 4 from the middle to north part of the state and 4 from the south. The tourney was held at Twin Creeks the middle of April.
We still use the tent that we bought in 10u. That tent has a lot of miles on it. DD doesn't play anymore, but we use it for DS soccer tourneys. Going back, I would invest in a better wagon, I think we went through 2 or 3 cheaper ones through the years.
I have several Thirty One bags that I used for tournaments, etc. They're great b/c of the side pockets and the fabric is cleanable so you don't have to worry too much about stains. For one of the larger totes they have a small zippered attachment that you can put on the outside of the bag...
You might also want to look into VRBO for that time frame. Chattanooga is enough of a touristy area that they might have some homes on there. If not, we've stayed up 75 in between exits 5-10 and it's a nicer area.
HS tourney games today at home and tomorrow (away - but close enough to our house that it's more like a home game). Good luck to everyone this weekend.
I have to disagree here - the 2 times that we went to ASA Nationals the pool games were used for the bracket games and there was regional "protection" the first game (possibly the second game too? Can't recall that). So we didn't play a team from Georgia (or our region) the first game either...
I know that for my daughter's school any transfers in can tryout the first week of school. At the school we are districted to, they have some more tryouts at the end of May (for incoming Magnet kids) and also the first week of school for transfers and kids moving into the district over the summer.
We paid $400 up front. Sold a couple of signs to businesses that went towards the team and the girls did an email blast to relatives etc. I do know that there are other schools in our county that pay
a lot more than we do. I will say that the girls got nice pullovers, zip up jackets and...
Daughter had a teacher fall of her sophomore year that figured the athletes should be spending as much time studying for this class as they did practicing and playing the sports they were in. And would say things like that during class. Mind you, this teacher taught an AP Math class and never...
