This is exactly what I was asking. She had a big correction of her glove hand recently after a glove side shoulder injury, but this doesn't seem to be associated with the issue. For instance Saturday she was relief and pitched the last two innings and without even a warmup pitched near perfect...
I agree, but since she is left handed and learning she tends to throw more outside. Trying to bring it in so she isn't getting balls where she could have had strikes.
I agree. My daughter's main position is catching. She has one younger catcher that catches for her some that gets into runners on stance every pitch. She catches them high and tends to pull them up higher trying to frame.
My lefty 12u daughter often gets mixed calls on outside pitches. She has a curve so they are caught more out sometimes. Some umps give her all of them some none and she ends up walking batters more than normal. When she attempts to pull it inside she can over correct and hit batters. As a...
Update: Chiropractor said she was pretty twisted up. She had an adjustment and ultrasound therapy. He suggested she watch the glove hand when pitching and try to control it more, and it was likely an acute injury. She will go back Thursday for another check up then hopefully she will back to...
There is a huge gap this year. Last year she played up 12u instead of 10u and almost all the girls were 2nd year 12u. It was a great fit. This year all those girls moved up and the skill level is just not there with the new girls. She got to play a little 14u last year so hoping he lets her...
I feel like if she keeps progressing in pitching that her travel coach will not want her to get injured catching. She is in a fix right now as she is the best pitcher and the best catcher on her team. The #2 catcher has trouble catching for her. She has been catching 2 games and pitching 1 or...
Her team assistant coach was a college pitcher and was giving them to her before winter, but we didn't have an indoor space for them in off season. It is starting to warm back up so hoping to get her back into lessons soon.
I grabbed some stills. She is coming up but that glove hand is coming back pretty far making her arch her back. This could be causing some of the pain if it is repetitive.
This was her last week. I am not noticing any major issues with her glove hand. She does tend to throw her shoulder which we are working on. I have no idea how fast she pitches so can't say if she has been losing speed or anything lately.
My daughter doesn't really swim but she if a forceful pitcher in general. She has an issue with throwing her shoulder into her pitch, I assumed this would cause throwing arm issues, didn't expect glove side.
She said she has no pain when laying on the ground doing stretches and has full...
I agree about choosing a position. She always just wanted to catch but is becoming a good pitcher. Being left handed also makes pitching more long term for her. She is often the workhorse of her teams so transitioning to taking care of her body is new for her.
