DD is a Sophomore this season. 34/24 for her. She is a strong power hitting catcher.
She though she wanted to go down to a 33/23 and tried it a bit on off season training but her hitting instructor measured exit veil’s and they were much better with the 34”.

Last year when my DD was a freshman she called one day and said “Dad, there are like 32 girls on the team”. I honestly was surprised. But once the season started there were 21. I was surprised so many girls quit (one got cut). Now that I’m a seasoned college softball dad (lol) I understand that...
A R5 would be an awful lot of camera in this situation. I’m a photog and I have a couple of 1DX’s. They would be overkill too.

If an outstanding hitter is playing in a very weak league then absolutely. I still shoot photos for my DD’s HS alma matter. Their star play feasted on the pitching in their league. The pitching they faced all season long was BP level. There was never any doubt about the scorebook because she...
Barely used. Two friendlies and some tee work. Grip is like new. Bought from LS website. DD is going back to 34”.

Playing only one position is not really a thing at higher (or even older) levels of softball. Learning to play multiple positions is a must if a kid wants to play in collage (Pitchers non withstanding). Even catchers better learn to play someplace else unless they want to rid the pine in more...
HS stats are a joke. I have seen teams in my DD’s conference (including my DD’s) end up a 30 plus game season with less than 5 ROE’s for the whole team. This is a really weak conference with only a couple decent teams. Lots and lots and lots of errors are made in any given game.

I find it hilarious that so many in this thread think that leaping and the pitcher’s circle have anything to do with each other!
The circle ONLY comes into play in regards to the LBR. Tall pitchers like Monica Abbot step outside of the circle due to math (as in she had really long legs).
