ODM Testing/Colorado Jamboree - specifics on the tests?
It's just another one of the great unknowns that come along with travel softball. CSE and PGF are now running their own metric camps so it must have some value to somebody (but maybe that somebody is just who is cashing the checks?). I take it that your kid never went to one of their tryouts? In the old days they made you attend one of their tryouts before they would give you an invite to a jamboree. That way the jamborees would only have the most "elite" players that were hand picked from their tryouts. Not saying your kid...- hipnix

Feel bad. All those 13 year old girls just lost their Oklahoma scholarships. Did the coaches on the teams that got left out bother to send in their team's record/stats or did they just assume that their record spoke for itself? It's not like Extras Innings is out there at USSSA nationals...- hipnix

The top 5 isn't all SoCal teams because there are more teams in SoCal to play for and the talent is spread thin. If you lived in Nebraska and your daughter was a stud, you'd have one option on what team she would play on. In SoCal, you'd have three or four "legitimate" options and half a dozen...- hipnix

You didn't even include Fresno, Fullerton, Cal Poly and Cal Baptist. They're all pretty bad too. There might be a big pool of talent in SoCal but clearly it's not very deep. Once the power five schools and top tier mid majors skim off the top, you've got about 10 schools in the region recruiting...- hipnix

That’s not how it works. It was bought from an authorized retailer but not by you. You bought it from an unauthorized individual. But as I said, if you have the original receipt, you’ll probably get it replaced.- hipnix

go to the Easton website and read the warranty where you’ll find out that the bat is not covered if purchased: Bats purchased from non-authorized Rawlings dealers or individuals That being said, if you submit a claim with an original receipt, you’ll probably get it covered but I wouldn’t count...- hipnix

Questions to ask and/or things to know when joining a large "national" team
I would look at the roster and look at the girls playing at your daughter's position and ask yourself if you think she can beat them out for playing time. Realistically, making a jump to a national team as a Junior should have happened in the Fall when teams were showcasing. The travel coaches...- hipnix
