The slap in the face was from a 10u girl at a 10u all star rec tournament. As the final out was being caught by our SS, their on deck batter was repeatedly slamming her bat into the ground.
This team is from SoCal. It is their home field and their league president is the manager. This is too young to be so callous.

Agree - and that stems from parental upbringing and what the coaches allow. There is no excuse for it. That player would be off my team immediately after. Discipline has essentially gone out the window and along with it, sportsmanship. However, I still feel the post-game handshake line should occur.

The rot starts at the top.
Do not see that as a softball issue at all That can happen anywhere. Probably already happened at the kids school or playing with friends.
This is a parenting discipline issue at home. If it's not handled strong enough at home it will be a problem for the family and child's future. Regardless on the team is a coaching discipline action on the team. Which should be benched from games a forced apology even losing their spot on the team.
This comes back to why our family selects coaches who handle management swiftly.
