I did a few of these postings last year just to see what our expert/non-expert panel here had to say. I really wish I had some sound clips from our bleacher umps to add.

Ball is popped up in the air 3rd base makes an attempt to catch ball while one foot in other in foul territory. Drops the ball as it rolls back towards pitcher's circle. If ball was not touched it would have landed foul. What is your call?

Batter swings drives ball directly into home plate but it pops straight up catcher attempts to catch ball but runner proceeds to run to first and runs into catcher. What is your call?

Batter bunts runs towards 1st with no safety bag but is between the lines and gets hit with thrown ball directly in the back. What is your call?

More information needed. Where was the ball when it first touched the fielder? Over fair territory or foul territory?

Could be interference, could be nothing. This particular play is cited as a case play where the catcher is attempting to field a batted ball in the vicinity of the plate and the batter-runner is advancing to first base. if they both get tangled up without any other actions, such as one player pushing or shoving the other out of the way, it's nothing.

Assuming that "between the lines" refers to the running lane on the foul side of the first baseline, this is a live ball, play on.

#1 depends on where the ball is in the air when its first touched. If its in foul territory foul ball, if its above fair when touched fair ball., where the feet of the player are is of no bearing to the correct call.

#2 interference batter out, if the ball is still above the plate or otherwise in fair territory. If its in foul ground, foul ball.

#3 If by between the lines you mean within the running lane Play on, I think.

1. It depends. If the ball was in fair territory when it was touched, then fair ball. If the ball was in foul territory when it was touched, foul ball. The base lines run vertically into space.

2. It depends if there was any extraneous activity coupled with the collision. If they just simply collide or even just touch, it is a live ball. If there was any holding, pushing, or any other purposeful contact it would either be interference or obstruction depending on the violator.

3. If a thrown ball hits the BR while she is in the running lane it is a live ball.

It all depend on where the ball was when it is touched. Players positioning has no bearing on the call. If no one touches it and it rolls back inside the base line in front of 3B it is a live ball.

If the ball is directly over the plate and still in fair territory it should be interference on the runner, but I bet most umpires would call it a foul ball.

If the base runner is inside the running lane it is a live ball. If the runner is inside the base line it should be a dead ball out, but it is an umpire judgement call.

#1: Foul ball (assumes contact made in foul territory).

#2: Interference.

#3: Live ball, batter-runner should run like hell if 1B coach waves BR to 2B.

As usual kind of hard to stump this crowd.

1. Was called a foul ball by ump but man was the bleacher umps fired up giving their own version. Ball was foul but defender was one foot in and one foot out.
2. Ump called it foul - I would lean more towards interference because the batter hesitated and then only decided to run once catcher was to go after the ball which actually bounced forward slightly towards circle.
3. Ump called runner out - now this one ended with coach being ejected (think blue got extra escorts to the parking lot)
