Runners on 2B and 3B. Batter bunts, the ball is fielded but the player holds on to the ball and doesn't throw to prevent 3B from coming home, so batter is safe at first. How to score? I have seen this scored as FC multiple times, so an out for batter but that doesn't seem fair to the batter. I think this may have been discussed on here before but couldn't find it easily.

Fielder's choice, IMO. Batter is 0-for-1.

FC requires an out or attempted out at other spot on field.
I believe that the mere choice to hold suffices, but I can't find a rule set that makes that absolutely clear.

Are you to judge whether the bunt would have resulted in a hit? Err on tge side of the batter. Hit since there was no attempt or perhaps even a play.
Would the batter have been out if the 3b threw the ball? If so it's a FC.
Huh?? Who moved up a base?
not true, a fielder's indifference is enough to cause it to be scored a FC

Maybe I misread - I thought the runner on 3B went home.
