I love Crystal's post about DD's volunteer award. ...

What are some good ideas for summer volunteer work that a high school-age kid and softball player can do?

My DD loves to volunteer at one of the Challenger programs. The Challenger program are sports programs for kids with special needs. We have also helped pack care packages for the troops. Other ideas are going to senior centers or assisted living facilities. Some people living in these facilities would love to have a smiling face to talk too or play a game of cards with for a little while.

DD is in the national honor society so she needs to do some hours every year. I think it is good for her.

I keep mentioning she should work on pitching with the 8 and 10 ages but I always get shot down.
