DD playing 8U, I was AC. Rules were player pitch with machine backup.

HC, who we liked, got it into thier head to wait for machine. I told Them OK I will support that but DD Is not going to do it. If the ball is in the same area code as her, she is swinging.

I do think it is better to attack, then pull back to the umpires strike zone once They are swinging.

Need to have the mentality that every pitch is going to be a strike that you will cut in half and hit a line drive through the outfield fence. As you embrace that and have it become second nature, you can start to learn about how to approach different counts. Then finally try to start picking up on what pitches are coming on what counts for a certain pitcher or team.

Develop killer instinct then start to play checkers and finally chess.
