Hey all! I have been super busy this early season with rec and travel at the same time so been a while since an update on progress. DD is now #1 pitcher on her TB team and seeing mostly bracket game innings with good success. She has good command of the 2 seam FB now and is doing well at hitting spots. We are working on increasing velocity and spin a whole bunch now as she is very small at 64 lbs. Also working on locating the changeup which tends to float high fairly consistently and still has too much velocity on it. Also trying to figure out how to get the 2 seam to break/tail a bit sooner (assuming we need more spin) as a team we played the other weekend figured out they could hit it by moving up in the box..... Drop ball is not much difference from her 2 seam fb yet as we havent got the spin nailed on that pitch yet so it sees little game use. Will be moving to the 12" ball soon so we will be fighting that battle soon with her very small hands. Hope everyone is healthy and well so far this season. Great to be mostly back to normal here in the ENC! Will try to get some video during practice this week to post up.

Cape Cod Mass.
The break on a 2 seam fastball depends a lot on seam orientation as well as spin axis and not so much on rpm's. Try different grips; with the seams, across the seams, middle and index fingers, middle and ring fingers, tilt the fingers across the seams at different angles, etc. The spin axis should be somewhere between bullet spin and top spin. Pure top or pure bullet won't do much. It requires a lot of experimentation to find the right combination.
