He is talking about being in the rear column, controlling the load/timing and the stride doesn’t matter (a light soft stride as he explained). Which means he wasn’t a momentum hitter, he controlled it.

He might be starting later and perhaps not controlling the load/timing. I have him with the Twins, no starting early.

His actions are a lot bigger later in his career..has to start earlier.

Bigger maybe, it’s like he said he learned how to control the load/timing. I would even say he wasn’t into the rear column as much in his early swing (even though it’s harder to see with that view) like he explained in the video.
