Correct. Explain what you think Rose was speaking about when he said “you hit off the back foot.”

He means he is one legged. The back side is in control. You’re not looking to shift weight forward and swinging at the same time. Your not looking to get the weight forward where off speed, changes and breaking pitches can get you.

Basically what Judge and Nomar are doing here…



These swings do not sync up perfectly due to the way each was recorded.

Not sure what you’re trying to say “you don’t want to get the weight forward and swinging at the same time.” As far as the off speed pitches are concerned, we teach that when they come to toe touch and then heel strike, we should be landing on a bent leg to gives them some adjustability with their stride leg.

So many youths are all back and then all forward. The forward should be to stretch against any shift is to stretch the system. Kids don’t shift until the start their swing.
