The entire Oklahoma team which is hitting .470 as a team starts early and slow. This was HR 20 for Alo.

Early and slow is only good if the hitter is moving forward at release. Forward at release is the key. The back knee is the indicator. If the back knee is over the back foot at release it’s game over. If you teach the gather/load without teaching the hitter to be forward at release you are going to have problems.

Mike,

I think I can be more deliberate with my coil in my second to last swing. Perhaps that will help me get one legged to finish off my movement towards the back leg. I do it, load/coil, a little fast. It’s a little to much just weight shifting back, instead of a strong coil.
