Should coaches or catchers call pitches?

If you are not positioning your Defense based on pitch call/location... you are not doing it right.

I really don't know how you do this without the pitch call coming from dugout.

In college catcher would call game and MI would then signal pitches to OF and they would adjust accordingly.

Maddie's 12U team would use the MIF to signal location to the OF, too. MIF read the catcher's signs, not the coach's. She hasn't played on a team since than that included that detail.

SS would also signal to 2b who was covering on a steal depending on batter/pitch combination.
