I bought Bushnell B0002X7V1Q speed gun for my son and I found it to work very well it is very accurate. But you must be directly behind or directly in front of what you are measuring (the pitcher) and you cannot be too far from what you are measuring (in the stands). It can also be used to check the speed of vehicles.

What you are talking about is cosine angle error and it is important for the radar user to understand.

I'm using it to measure my son's pitching speed and I'm very pleased with it. The Bushnell gun can still be useful to get a general feel for how hard the pitcher is and whether he's making progress.
