We have been out looking today - went to the Rawlings factory store and checked a bunch out- going to head to dicks and another store tomorrow and Sunday and from there she will make a decision

Dick’s will highly likely be a huge waste of time, and after this past year on vacation, I wrote off the Myrtle Beach outlet after the third year in a row being a bust! Sorry, I know that sounds negative….

Not planning on purchasing from either just trying on to make sure what she likes- the factory store in Orlando and a decent selection and she has an idea of what she defiantly wants and what she does not- some of the Rawlings had a couple leather straps to tighten them then tie a knot- she prefers either just the replace to the tighter hole position or a strap. Also was seeing how it
Felt for TIP. The prices were also really no better than I could find online. On a good note I did pick up a couple new gloves for my 8 u little leaguers and got a great price on those

You can see the different wrist configurations on the Nokona and the Pro Preferred here. The Nokona is a 12.5" glove versus the 12" size of the Rawlings, so it is heavier. Given the proper care, both gloves will last a long time. The Pro Preferred is in need of a good cleaning since our season just ended. I just had the Nokona cleaned and relaced by AZ Glove Lab.

I know neither is Horween, but my daughter loves both of them.

I wouldn't recommend the same glove as a pitcher as I would for a first baseman. Pitchers need a small glove, so a 12 or 12.25 is perfect, but a 1B mitt is so much bigger. Player height doesn't have anything to do with glove size at that age.

I've seen some girls use their regular fielding gloves at first, but it usually doesn't work too well.

My DD is a P/1B -- we definitely recommend two gloves.

[EDIT] Both should have gold welting
